In July 2023, after an active vacation kayaking and walking, Bob suddenly had a stroke. He was zipped air ambulance to University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, where he spent four weeks restoring. 'I used the fitness center often and did neurorehabilitation online (NROL)'. NROL is a group rehabilitation programme for individuals who have actually had a stroke or have other neurological conditions. 'I had a structured timetable which provided me something to eagerly anticipate weekly - socially, mentally and emotionally.' ' Working alongside nurses and seeing the distinction they made inspired me to believe, 'I might do that!" Meet Sharon, a sexual health nurse and non-medical prescriber who started her nursing journey in 1985 at the Royal Liverpool Teaching Hospital. In 2010 she signed up with Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust and continues to serve patients in Hertfordshire. 'I enjoyed assisting individuals and finding out about the body, so nursing simply felt right.' Sharon shows. Sharon has actually operated in male infertility, menopause, miscarriage and colposcopy among others, revealing the wide variety of areas in which nurses make a difference. 'Truly, I can't consider a location where nurses don't make an impact in some type,' Sharon confesses.
